This spot, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is one of Tokyo's largest and most popular parks. Located just a short walk from Shinjuku Station, the paid park's spacious lawns, meandering walking paths and tranquil scenery provide a relaxing escape from the busy urban center around it.

It originated during the Edo Period (1603-1867) as a feudal lord's Tokyo residence. Later it was converted into a botanical garden before being transferred to the Imperial Family in 1903 who used it for recreation and the entertainment of guests. The park was almost completely destroyed during World War II, but was eventually rebuilt and reopened in 1949 as a public park.

The garden, which is 58.3 hectares in area with a circumference of 3.5 km, blends three distinct styles: a French Formal and English Landscape in the north and to the south a Japanese traditional. A traditional Japanese tea house can be found within the gardens. The garden is a favorite hanami (cherry blossom viewing) spot, and large crowds can be present during cherry blossom season.

江戸時代に信州高遠藩主内藤家の屋敷があった土地の一部が、明治に入り農事試験場を経て皇室の御料地となり、明治39年に完成した皇室庭園で戦後一般に開放されるようになりました。広さ58万3千平方メートルの敷地内には、日本庭園、フランス式整形庭園、イギリス式風景庭園が匠にデザインされています。また、春の桜や秋の紅葉も有名で、都心のオアシスとして人々の憩いの場となっています。

The view of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building was just superb when looking from here. 👏 I felt as if I were in Central Park in Manhattan, within NYC. I've never been there..ha ha. 😅 But I will never fail to go to NYC one day. My dream is to go to see Broadway musicals. 😍

In sleep he sang to me, in dream he came...that voice which calls to me, and speaks my name... And do I dream again? For now I find the Phantom of the Opera is there - inside my mind...

To tell the truth, I have my eye on the role of Christine Daaé, a heroine with whom the title character Erik, the Phantom of the Opera falls in love. 😱

Be that as it may, I've come to love this park where I can forget everything and can refresh. 💖 So I hope to visit there again sometime. 😊

まぁそれはともかく、全てを忘れられてリフレッシュできるここが大好きになりました💖
また近々行きたいですね〜😊
